The basic premise of the game is to be handed cards totaling up to 21. Every player is assigned two cards. When a gambler is handed a 9 or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been handed a soft hand. When the blackjack player receives no Ace it is known as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been dealt every player at the table, including the dealer, every blackjack player is given the chance to make 1 of 6 actions:

Taking another card (Hit): When a player announces "hit" the croupier will deal them another card, if the adding of that card makes the value of the hand to exceed twenty-one the player will have lost and that is the end of the game, if the card makes the value of the hand to twenty one the black jack player will be the winner and if the total hasn’t yet achieved 21 they’re still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been dealt: If a player is satisfied with the cards they will hold. Once this has happened the dealer will display their hand and the black jack player who has gotten 21 or the nearest to twenty-one will acquire a win.

Doubling Down: A black jack player might request to double down which increases the wager by 100% they have placed. Once you have taken this procedure you can only receive 1 additional card. The specifics of doubling down are normally out lined by the table or casino rules so prior to gambling make sure you’re familiar with the house rules. If you’re betting at an on-line casino this is usually very simple.
